Celbridge Manor Hotel - Last night in Ireland - July 7th

A quick breakfast this morning, and we're off for Celbridge Manor Hotel, just west of Dublin.

On the way, we stopped in Limerick for lunch, see King John's Castle.
We parked the car in a free lot, but had to walk a little.  Some of the sights of Limerick were..... colorful.....

We headed first for lunch, but were sidetracked by St. Mary's Cathedral, replete with cemetery and old headstones.  The place has a long history, and some of the more recent (1800 and forward) headstones were visible.

Inside, some preservation was still taking place, and some restoration had been done.  Services are still held every day.  The timeline goes back to the 1200s.  It has numerous commorative placques and engravings dedicated to select patrons of the cathedral.

Time for lunch so they chose a place called The Texas Steakout.  Gwen and Ruthanne had nachos, while Emma and I went for the fish 'n chips.  The nachos were ok, but nothing to rave about.

Then it was time to head back, but time was short so we passed on the King John castle.  You know.... if you've seen one castle,......

Just outside of Limerick, we picked up the M7, which is the equivilent of our freeway, and made pretty good time to Celbridge.  The place is impressive, and looks way out of place for the neighborhood, being the only building of its type around.

There were also three large meeting rooms that could easily hold a party of 200 guests for a destination wedding.  The place is massive, and away from the highway.

The late snack we enjoyed was a chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream.

Tomorrow, no time for breakfast.  Gotta get the car back and be at the gate (having gone through security) by 9:30.  An early morning.
